Facility

Camp Middlesex is located on the edge of Willard Brook in beautiful Ashby, Massachusetts.  Whether you’re planning a family reunion, wedding, Live Action Role Play (LARP) event, or school outing, Camp Middlesex is the perfect facility for groups of 25-150 people! The camp site has 75 acres of walking trails, cabin space, and open fields available for groups to rent in the spring (April-June) and fall (Sept. – October).

Lodging
Camp Middlesex’s bunk capacity ranges from 8 to 14 beds in each cabin, providing a total of 125 beds. The cabins are equipped with lights, electricity, bunks, and mattresses. Centralized bathhouses with toilets and hot showers are located nearby. Visitors bring their own bedding.

Meals
Our licensed kitchen is for use by any group. Groups have the option of cooking for themselves using their own grills, or may use Camp Middlesex’s kitchen.

Camp Middlesex can offer the following trained & licensed counselors at a charge of $20/hour for your group:

Availability

Our camp is available for leasing from mid-April until Mid-June, and during the months of September and October. Interested groups are strongly encouraged to make their reservations early.

Responsibilities

The modest fees charged to visiting groups assumes that every effort will be made by visitors to minimize potential damage or excessive soiling of camp facilities and furnishings. An orientation by the group leader should be provided to all members of the group regarding respect for camp property, using reasonable care around screen doors and windows, and other acceptable parameters for activities (no standing on chairs or tables, no excessive rough housing, etc.). The camp should be treated as if it was your own.

Safety’s Sake
Groups that use the camp on their own (i.e., without camp staff present) should bring their own first aid kit, and have someone within their group who is trained in first aid procedures.

Camp Middlesex has several buildings with low-lying roofs, and inherently features other potentially dangerous elements within the 75-acre, 28+ building facility that may be attractive to adventurous youngsters. Children under the age of 16 must be under adult supervision at all times.

Policies

Activities of visiting groups must be in accordance with 4-H Camp Middlesex’s established rules and policies including the adult supervision of children, limiting excessive noise, safety issues, and the use of alcohol. 4-H Camp Middlesex reserves the right to remove participant(s) for serious violations of these rules, behavioral misconduct, or for any reason that may jeopardize the well-being of the camp and/or participants and groups may be assessed an additional fee for excessive or unwarranted damages to facilities. Fees

Lodging (Minimum Group Size of 25):
Lodging rates range from $22 to $30 per person per night. The larger the group and/or longer the stay, the lower the rate. Overnight use includes use of all facilities.

25-40 people: $2,250/weekend ($30/person additional Nights)
40-60 people: $3,350/weekend ($28/person additional Nights)
60-90 people: $4,500/weekend ($25/person additional nights)
90-120 people: $5,280/weekend ($22/person additional nights)

We provide propane gas for cooking, garbage disposal, electricity, hot running water, and kitchen utensils for all of our rental groups.

Insurance
All groups are required to carry their own event insurance.  The insurance paperwork must name ‘Camp Middlesex’ as an additional insured.

Additional Fees (optional):
Pool Use – $200/day
Lifeguard – $25/hr.

Day Use (Minimum Group Size of 25):
Rates may vary depending the extent of use, but the cost for using the campground during the day only can be as low as $10 – $15 per person per day (during the week) or $12-$17 per person per day on the weekends.

Day use includes the use of soccer/recreation field, Recreation Hall, Conference Building, Dining Hall, bathrooms, and/or waterfront (providing a certified lifeguard is on duty).

Deposit Required
A non-refundable deposit of 20% or $500 is required at the time of reservation, with the balance due paid two weeks prior to arrival.
